About Us

Graeme Daws in partnership with his ex-wife began showing under the the Kalisse prefix in Australia in 1976, when they started Showing and Breeding Australian Silky Terriers.
This was my first introduction into the world of Show Dogs, which is now in it's 32nd year.
Some of the Early Australian Silky Terriers owned and exhibited were:
Aust. Ch. Bogunda Boy Blue, Aust. Ch. Dandylou Nada, and our home breed Aust. Ch. Kalisse Just aA Dream (whose photo appears in the book Dogs of Australia (1984) all of whom were Multi In Group and In Show Winners.

In 1983 Kalisse purchased their first Papillon Aust Ch Feileacan Fancy A Bit from the English Import Aust. Ch. Danview Corrennie. Pippen as he was known took out Best Exhibit in Group, Best Puppy in Group & Best Puppy in Show All Breeds at the tender age of 9 months.
Shortly afterwards we purchased Aust.Ch. Feileacan Topaz Lady, Aust. Ch. Feileacan Stars in Her Eyes our Foundation bitches, Aust. Ch. Feileacan Uwantit Ugotit all Multi In Group and In Show Winners & Aust.Ch.Feileacan Ima Playboy our first Best Exhibit In Show All Breeds, all of whom were either from the Swedish Imports Aust. Ch. Semblem Othello or Semblem Feileacan Snowman.
Also either owned or bred by Kalisse were Aust. Ch. Kalisse Gee Whata Grouch (Best Exhibit in Group Winner) Kalisse Almost an Angel, Best Puppy in Group & Puppy in Show Winner at 91/2 months, plus many others.

Currently residing in the U.S.A. with his new wife Elaine and again successfully showing Papillons our first being Multi. Ch. Caratoot's Classy Centerfold (Imp. Sweden).
Jazz obtained his Canadian Title on the 15th December at 10months of age in 4 shows taking Best of Winners each time. Jazz also obtained his International Title in May of 2003 taking Reserve Best In Show on his way, in July 2003 Jazz finally received his American Title and now has all 3 Championships.
Jazz travelled back to Sweden in 2007 and from July through to December obtained his Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Norwegian, & Nordic Titles,
He also gained Swedish Winner 2006, Norwegian Winner 2006 & Coppenhagen Winner 2006.
To add to his list of wins, we attended the UKC Washington Classic in July of 2007 and in that one weekend, Jazz received Group 1st at every show On top of that he received one Reserve BIS and on the last day received BIS!
In January of 2004 Kalisse purchased in partnership with G. Gordon it's second Papillon dog Finnish Import Can. Ch. Connection Making Out. Mikey was purchased to help with our Breeding Program.
Now in 2007 we have now purchased our 3rd Papillon Male Can. Ch. Golden Leafs Mystery Man (Imp. Sweden).
